Nerikomi Workshops

Our starter course, where you will learn the basics in making Nerikomi and bring home your very own trinket holder dish with a checkered pattern. Get creative with the private, one-on-one experience in our home studio in Bintaro.
 
What we will be learning:
1. Nerikomi basics: Intro, what is Nerikomi, types of Nerikomi, the tools and materials you need, what you can do with Nerikomi, designing clay — 15 minutes
2. Making the Checkered Nerikomi Pattern: demo on making colored clay, one-on-one guidance on making checkered Nerikomi of your own design — 2 hours
3. Molding to plaster molds: finishing details, cleaning up, photo time, putting names on bottoms — 20 minutes
4. Snack time, Q&As — 25 minutes*

Available every Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and only by appointment every week (no walk-ins).
 
Terms and Conditions
1. You are strongly encouraged to take this course before other advanced workshops in Nareswari.
2. Book a session at least two days in advance.
3. You won’t be bringing home your finished pieces on the day of the workshop, but it will be glazed and fired first. They will be ready to be sent to your home within 4-5 weeks after the workshop.
 

FAQ

Q: Where is the studio located?

A: We are located in Bintaro Sektor 9, Tangerang Selatan. As we are a private home studio, we will only send you our exact studio location after your workshop booking is confirmed. You can type in ‘Nareswari Studio’ on Google Maps for an approximate location of our studio.

Q: How can I get there?

A: By KRL train, the closest stations are Jurangmangu Station (3,5 km) and Sudimara Station (1,8 km). You can continue by foot but we advice using an online taxi service because it’s quite a bit of walk!

Exit through Pondok Aren Exit. if you're going by toll roads.

Q: Are there any other classes other than Nerikomi?

A: We are still developing other types of workshops. If you are interested in any other forms of classes, hit us up and tell us what you have in mind! We are very open to suggestions.

Q: What should I prepare for the session?

AShort nails makes it easier for you to shape the clay. Wear comfy clothes, and don't forget to eat before you come!
